McGovern Endorses Demo Congressional Candidate
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Democratic congressional candidate Matt Varilek says former U.S. Sen. George  McGovern has endorsed his bid for South Dakota's lone seat in the U.S. House.

Varilek also has been endorsed by Sen. Tim Johnson and former U.S. Sen. Tom Daschle.

Varilek is facing Minnehaha County Commissioner Jeff Barth for the Democratic nomination to run for the U.S. House seat now held by Republican Kristi Noem.

Two Republicans, Rapid City businesswoman Stephanie Strong and former journalist Bill Cissell of Sturgis, have said they will challenge Noem for the Republican House nomination.
