Sioux Falls Plans Bonds Sale To Fund Events Center

Sioux Falls Plans Bonds Sale To Fund Events Center
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Sioux Falls officials are expected to discuss Tuesday the funding for the multi-million dollar event center narrowly approved by voters in November.

City Finance Director Tracy Turbak is set to announce the planned sale of bonds to finance the $115 million venue at a news
conference Tuesday at City Hall.

Officials hope construction on the events center will be complete by late 2014.

The proposal's price tag has caused controversy, but supporters say it will help energize the economy and draw more sports and entertainment events to the city. The events center is expected to seat 12,000 people.
