Getting R.I.P.P.E.D.
Have you been working out lately but not noticing a difference? A new workout class in Sioux Falls called R.I.P.P.E.D. might be for you. A couple dozen women are stepping into the new exercise in Sioux Falls.

"When you do a lot of exercising, you have to change up your exercise routine," Carol Spader said.

R.I.P.P.E.D incorporates strength, cardio, kickboxing, plyometrics and mixed martial arts, all in one 45-minute class.

"The number one reason people don't exercise right now is because of lack of time. So we're trying to help that problem and provide them with a good, shorter class that can give them more bang for their buck," Group Fitness instructor Danelle Schultz said.

And by mixing up the workout, trainers say this program is plateau-proof.

"When you workout and do the same thing day after day, initially it's hard for your body to do that, but your body adjusts and adapts to that. Therefore, if you run every day at the same pace, your body doesn't have to work as hard to do it anymore, so it becomes very efficient. It's not burning the calories. You don't get the results," Schultz said.

In addition to burning more calories in less time, R.I.P.P.E.D. classes are also choreographed to music, which Spader says makes the class more entertaining so she can reach her goal more easily.

"Like everybody, it's to lose weight that I've put on over the holidays, get back into shape for swimsuit season and vacationing and that type of thing," Spader said.

A goal Spader hopes this new class will help her step toward.

R.I.P.P.E.D. classes are held at the Sanford Wellness Center at 8:15 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and noon and 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.
