PIERRE, SD -
Gov. Dennis Daugaard said Thursday that Dave Scott of Geddes will fill a vacant District 21 seat in the South Dakota House of Representatives.
Scott, a fourth-generation farmer in Charles Mix County, will also represent Brule, Buffalo, Lyman and Jones counties. He takes the seat of Rep. Kent Juhnke of Vivian, who was appointed by Daugaard recently to take the seat of Sen. Cooper Garnos of Presho. Garnos officially resigned on Wednesday.
Scott has served for 26 years as the township clerk for Jackson Township and is a board member of the Association of Towns and Townships.
Daugaard says Scott is a leader on issues relating to agriculture, transportation and local government.
