Flags At Half Staff Tuesday For Firefighter

Flags At Half Staff Tuesday For Firefighter
Flags across South Dakota will fly at half staff Tuesday in honor of a state forest firefighter who died battling a fire in the southern Black Hills.

Governor Dennis Daugaard asks flags be lowered for 23-year old Trampus Haskvitz. He died Thursday fighting the Coal Canyon fire near Edgemont when flames overtook Haskvitz and his crew.

South Dakota officials say two other firefighters were hurt battling the Coal Canyon fire, and the blaze is still dangerous as crews fight the flames from the ground and using helicopters.

Funeral services for firefighter Haskvitz are set for Tuesday in his hometown of Hot Springs.
