All But Four MN State Parks Reopen After Shutdown

July 25, 2011, 4:27 PM

ST. PAUL, MN - Minnesota state parks resume taking reservations for campsites and cabins at 8 a.m. Tuesday following the state government shutdown.
Due to the expected call volume, the Department of Natural Resources recommends going online at  Reservations also can be made by phone at 866-857-2757.

Reservations can be made a year in advance, but because of the government shutdown no reservations have been taken yet for the Fourth of July 2012, so all reservable campsites and lodgings will be up for grabs.

The also DNR says there are still some reservable sites left this weekend on the North Shore at Cascade River, Gooseberry Falls, Temperance River and Tettegouche state parks.

Four state parks - Camden, Old Mill, St. Croix and Upper Sioux Agency - remain closed due to storm damage.
