Kill Limit Surpassed In SD Mountain Lion Season
February 22, 2011, 7:02 AM
RAPID CITY, SD -
South Dakota wildlife officials say they will not punish two hunters who shot mountain lions after a state-set limit of 45 kills had been reached.
The state Game, Fish and Parks Department says the hunters who brought down the lions Monday could not reasonably have known that the limit had been reached while they were out in the field.
The final tally for the season that began January 1 is 21 male lions and 26 females.
