KPLO-TV Temporary Tower Ready
March 17, 2010, 4:44 PM
The temporary television tower that will serve our KPLO coverage area is up and awaiting FCC approval to transmit a signal.
KELOLAND television built the tower after KPLO-TV’s 711-foot tower collapsed in a fierce ice storm on January 22.
The temporary tower, which is on Medicine Butte in Lyman County, is 330 feet tall and will serve 70-percent of the coverage area previously reached by the permanent tower.
Plans for a permanent tower are underway.
Cable and satellite viewers are not affected by the tower collapse. Over-the-air viewers, however, have not received KPLO-TV’s programming since January 22.
