Thune: McCain Critics Will Turn To Supporters
February 7, 2008, 7:16 AM
Senator John Thune says criticism that fellow Republican Senator John McCain is not conservative enough will fade as it becomes clear he's going to be the presidential nominee.
Thune says McCain "could deliver a knock out blow" to his opponents in upcoming primaries and then a lot of his critics will turn to supporters. He says McCain is the most electable of the GOP candidates.
Thune says he's anxious to help McCain in any way he can, though he doesn't expect to be asked to be his running-mate.
Thune invited McCain to Sioux Falls in October 2006 and he spoke at the Chamber of Commerce banquet.
