A Hughes County court appearance has been delayed for a former South Dakota lawmaker charged with rape and other offenses against two girls in foster care at his home.
Former state Representative Ted Klaudt of Walker had been scheduled to enter a plea in Pierre on Friday, July 6, but that's been pushed back to next Wednesday, July 11.
Prosecutors filed charges against Klaudt last month in both Hughes and Corson counties. Those original charges have now been replaced by grand jury indictments that allege the same offenses.
Earlier this week, Klaudt was indicted on ten similar counts in Corson County.
Klaudt is free on a $100,000 Hughes County bond.
