Todd Bouman: 'My Patience Is Wearing Thin'
November 13, 2002, 1:34 AM
(Minneapolis-AP) -- Minnesota Vikings' backup quarterback Todd Bouman says he's getting impatient and would like to be an NFL starter.
Bouman tells the Independent of Marshall, Minnesota, that he feels that he's in a "difficult situation" with his team.
He's been with the Vikings for six years, and the Minnesota native says he's proven to himself that he deserves a shot as a starter.
Bouman nearly rallied the Vikings to victory last week after coach Mike Tice yanked starter Daunte Culppeper in the third.
The 30-year-old Bouman says he'll take a hard look at his career at the end of the season.
Bouman said nothing in the interview about Culpepper, but the two players have always had a good relationship.
Bouman grew up in Ruthton, in southwest Minnesota, and was the starting quarterback at St. Cloud State for three years.
