MADISON, SD -
The city of Madison has lifted its extreme water restriction now that water tower levels are back up to normal.
A water main broke outside the town's purification plant over the weekend, spilling 200,000 gallons of water. Officials say a critical pipe developed a crack that was five-an-a-half feet long.
People were asked to not use water unless absolutely necessary until the water was restored. City officials say most people complied, allowing the system to replenish the city's supply.
