Officials have evacuated the towns of Norden and Springview in Nebraska because of a major grass fire in the area.
Region 24 Emergency Manager Doug Fox says at least four or five structures in the town of Norden have been destroyed, and at least one is a residence.
Fox says the grass fire, being dubbed the "Niobrara River Canyon Fire," has now spread to 32-thousand to 35-thousand acres which is the equivalent of 46 square miles.
Governor Heineman visited the Niobrara River Canyon Fire Saturday says he's working to get helicopters and planes to the area to fight the fire from above.
Officials say the problem is the fire is in a valley/canyon making it difficult and dangerous for firefighters to fight the fire.
Fox says the fire started Friday morning after lightning struck the area Thursday night.
