Pierre basketball standout Zach Hanson has made his college choice. The upcoming senior for the Governors basketball team is headed to Creighton.
Hanson picked the Bluejays after talking it over with his parents on Monday. He let Creighton head coach Greg McDermott know last night. The 6-foot-9 forward averaged just over 17 points per game last season for Pierre.
"I've been talking to Creighton for almost two years now. They've been there from the beginning and kind of believed in me before some of these other schools did, which meant a lot to me. They've definitely proven to me that they really want me and care about me. That was a big thing too, which I really liked. That helped me make the decision," Hanson said.
Hanson says his final five consisted of Creighton, Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa State and Gonzaga. He chose the Omaha-based school because he says he fit in with the coaches and players.
