Stampede Announce 2012-13 Schedule
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

The Sioux Falls Stampede are pleased to announce their schedule for the upcoming 2012-13 season. The league schedule has been extended this season to 64 games (32 home, 32 away). The season begins on September 28th in Lincoln and concludes on April 13th at home against Omaha.

This year’s schedule is very family friendly with 28 of the 32 home dates being played on weekends. 13 games will be played on Friday’s, 13 on Saturday’s and two (2) on Sunday’s. In addition, the Stampede will play 4 home games on Wednesday nights.  Click here to view the entire schedule.

For the third straight year, the Stampede will start the season on the road when they face Western Conference rival Lincoln on  Friday, September 28th at the Ice Box in Lincoln. The Herd’s home opener is set for Friday, October 5th at 7:05 PM against the Omaha Lancers.

Other highlights of the home schedule include Friday, October 26th when Sioux City makes their first visit to Sioux Falls. All four of the Stampede’s home games against the Musketeers will be played on a Friday or Saturday this season, including back-to-back nights . The Herd will host the Fargo Force on the day before Thanksgiving (Nov. 21) and Sioux City the day after (Nov. 23). Sioux Falls will also play a home series prior to Christmas (Dec. 21 & 22) when they host Waterloo and Cedar Rapids.

Fans can ring in the New Year a little early on Sunday, December 30th when the Herd host the Des Moines Buccaneers. Stampede close out the regular season with a Friday/Saturday homestand against Des Moines and Omaha on April 12 & 13.

"We are very excited about our schedule for this season.,” said Stampede CEO/President Tom Garrity. “We have a lot of weekend games this season which should work well for most of our fans. Our Wednesday games allow other people who might not be able to make it on the weekend an opportunity to see a game. The league did a great job to put an emphasis on conference rivalries which I think is appealing to our fans as well,” added Garrity.

The 16 USHL Member Clubs are divided equally into two conferences– Eastern and Western— representing a true geographic split. The Western Conference will feature Des Moines, Fargo, Lincoln, Omaha, Sioux City, Sioux Falls, Tri-City and Waterloo. The Eastern Conference includes: Cedar Rapids, Chicago,       Dubuque, Green Bay, Indiana, Muskegon, Team USA and Youngstown.

The Stampede will play Fargo, Lincoln, Omaha, Sioux City and  Tri-City eight times (4 home, 4 away), Des Moines six times (3 home, 3, away), and Waterloo four times (2 home, 2 away). They will face Cedar Rapids (1 home, 2 away), Green Bay (1 home, 2 away) and Dubuque (2 home, 1 away) three times and all other Eastern Conference teams once.

Stampede high school players will report in mid-August for school and camp will open in late August.  Nearly 30 players will be   vying for 23 roster spots at the end of the pre-season. Single game tickets for the regular season will go on sale in late September.

Season tickets and “E-Z Game Tickets” are now available. “E-Z Game Tickets” are just $99 and come with 10 ticket vouchers good for any regular season Stampede or Pheasants baseball game! Call the Stampede office today: 605-336-6060 for more details.

The Stampede will be announcing their exhibition schedule and promotional calendar at a later date.
