Patty Coddington, Augustana's assistant women's golf coach, was inducted into the South Dakota Golf Association Hall of Fame on July 7 at Minnehaha Country Club.
An 11-time SDGA champion, Coddington is the only female among three golfers to win at least five different SDGA championships in a career. Only five golfers have won more SDGA championships.
She has two wins in the Husband-Wife Championship, four crowns in the Women's Pre-Senior Championship, three titles in the Two-Woman Championship, a victory in the 2011 Women's Senior Championship, and first place in the 2012 Senior Husband & Wife Championship with her husband, Keel. She joined long-time friend and Augustana head coach, Peggy Kirby, in winning the 2001 Two-Woman Championship.
Coddington has represented the SDGA five times in the USGA Women's State Team Championship. She is currently a member of the SDGA Board of Directors, the SDGA Junior Golf Foundation Board of Directors and the First Tee of South Dakota Advisory Committee. She was the president of the SDGA Board of Directors in 2006.
She was appointed Augustana's assistant coach in November, 2007. The Vikings have won three consecutive Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference championships, three straight Central Region titles, and have made five consecutive appearances in the national tournament.
