Brende Sentenced To 50 Years For Sex Crime
Steven Brende | March 2011

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

A 55-year-old Sioux Falls man is headed to prison for 50 years for sexual crimes involving a 7-year-old boy.

A jury convicted Steven Brende in May to two counts of first degree rape and two counts of sexual contact with a child.

The victim was a boy who Brende would sometimes babysit.

Brende was close friends with the victim's family and the boy would sometimes call Brende 'Uncle Steve.'

Brende not only raped the seven-year-old while he was staying at his house but court documents say Brende would also show the boy pornographic videos.

Tonight on KELOLAND News, we'll hear from the victim's mother and why Brende still denies the charges.
