Jaycees Fireworks Show A Success

July 5, 2012, 6:39 AM by Katie Lingle

Jaycees Fireworks Show A Success
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Children and adults watched in awe as the Jaycees fireworks show lit up the night sky at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds in Sioux Falls.

"It was awesome, they were really cool," spectator Shelby Baatz said.

It's all thanks in large part to the Grand Falls Casino for its "Win, Win with a Bang" promotion. For every $10 donated to the casino, players received $10 dollars of casino play.

For those who have been watching the show for years, they were happy to see the show go on without a hitch.

"I would have been disappointed, just because I didn't have anything else planned. I didn't buy fireworks this year so this is kind of my big shabam," spectator Anthony Pederson.

"We weren't going to do anything else besides this, we really didn't have anything planned besides this," Baatz said.

For people of all ages, it was an exciting way to end the Fourth of July.

"They wanted to see something special. They were hounding us tonight and so this is why we came in. We went inside and got to see some other entertainment to get us in the mood and it's for our country," spectator Nathan Niehus said.

"That's what I was expecting, just a big boom to end the night," Baatz said.

With some support already coming in for the next fireworks display, spectators can expect to see some sparks fly again next year.
