Drought Likely To Continue Throughout Summer

June 29, 2012, 6:07 PM by Scot Mundt

Drought Likely To Continue Throughout Summer

We can use any rain we can get because the drought continues to get worse in KELOLAND.

The moderate drought conditions are expanding in Western, South Central, and Northeast KELOLAND. Rapid City and Aberdeen are both under these conditions. And the abnormally dry conditions have expanded into Central and Southeast KELOLAND.

While we do have scattered rain in the forecast over the next couple of days, widespread relief is not in sight.

Next week is showing mostly dry and hot conditions.  It will most likely cause the drought conditions to continue to expand.

Over the last six weeks, the dry conditions have migrated into KELOLAND and this trend will likely continue over the summer. So be thankful for any rain that may fall in your area.
