New Construction Projects Popping Up

June 19, 2012, 6:49 AM by Kellee Azar

New Construction Projects Popping Up
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Your morning commute could send you in a different direction in areas of Sioux Falls if you run into any of the new construction projects that are just getting underway.

Louise Avenue is closing from 85th Street to 265th Street for sewer, concrete, gutter and median improvements.  It's expected to be closed until October and resume in the spring of 2013 for more improvements.  Detours are set up to take you around the area.

Crews have closed a section of 18th Street at Summit Avenue to strengthen in the pavement.  The project will extend from Minnesota Avenue to Grange Avenue but they're taking it a block at a time.  This will impact traffic to Sanford's hospital but detours will get you around the closed road.

Drivers no longer have to worry about seeing cones on East 10th Street.  Crews finished the final pavement repairs between the viaduct and Interstate 229 seven weeks ahead of schedule.
