Construction is well under way in Sioux Falls and there a few areas you might want to avoid.
One of the largest projects is on Marion Road from 26th Street to around 39th Street. The City of Sioux Falls is widening Marion Road to five lanes. This project will close some side streets and while it will remain open, officials say you should expect delays. This project is expected to last until the end of August.
Crews are also working on Cliff Avenue from 61st Street to Tomar Road. That section will be down to one lane in each direction as crews re-surface the road. It's expected to last until the end of June.
Downtown Sioux Falls is also seeing some orange cones and road closed signs. 8th Street from Main Avenue to Minnesota Avenue is closed as crews work on re-surfacing the road. You can still cross 8th on Dakota Avenue and there is one lane of traffic open for southbound traffic for residents to get to local businesses.
Starting Thursday crews will also be working on 10th Street from Phillips Avenue to Minnesota Avenue and Minnesota Avenue from 10th to 11th Street.
Officials say you should expect delays for all projects and it might be a good idea to avoid them if possible.
