National Book Award Winner To Speak At SDSU
BROOKINGS, SD -

South Dakota State University has announced that Native American author and filmmaker Sherman Alexie will give an address on campus in September.

Alexie's Sept. 26 speech will kick off the 2012 South Dakota Festival of Books, which runs Sept. 28-29 in Sioux Falls.

Alexie's 2007 book, "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian," won a National Book Award. The book has been selected as SDSU's common read for the fall semester. The common read is geared toward students in university orientation classes.

Tickets for Alexie's speech will be available in late summer.
