Hoogendoorn Sentencing In Canton
Brian Hoogendoorn, August 2011

CANTON, SD -

The Harrisburg man who admits to passing a long line of cars on a Lincoln County highway and killing a young mother will be back in court on Wednesday.

Brian Hoogendoorn has pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter for the June 10, 2011, crash that killed Stacey Brown and injured her 4-year-old child.

Last June, the Harrisburg man was waiting behind a line of cars on Highway 11 when he tried to pass the vehicles.  When he got to the front of the line, he collided with Brown who was turning left.

Hoogendoorn will be sentenced Wednesday afternoon for his crime.

KELOLAND News will be in the courtroom.  You can listen to streaming audio from the hearing starting at 1 p.m.
