SIOUX FALLS, SD -
Polling locations in Sioux Falls are seeing a steady stream of voters over the lunch hour who are weighing in on whether the city should build a $115 million events center.
Many polling locations had lines of people waiting to vote before they opened at 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Voters we talked with say they're turning out because it's such an important issue for the future of the city, no matter which side you're on.
Those voting in favor of the issue say the events center will play an important role in shaping the local economy, bringing jobs to the region and bringing entertainment to the community.
People who are voting against the issue have concerns with the city's financial future and the tax revenue this the project would use.
Absentee voting continues until 3 p.m. and polls are open until 7 p.m.
KELOLAND News will have a news crew stationed at the county auditor's office as the votes are counted and bring you the results as soon as they come in on KELO-TV and KELOLAND.com.
Then on KELOLAND News at Ten we'll bring you reaction to the results from people on both sides of the issue.
