Storm Center Update-Tuesday AM
April 19, 2011, 6:15 AM
SIOUX FALLS, SD -
We have another morning of rain and snow across KELOLAND with winter weather advisories in effect for northern and western KELOLAND including Aberdeen, Pierre, and Rapid City.
We already have 2-5” of snow on the ground in Western South Dakota, and also snow is covering the roads in south-central areas trending east toward the Missouri River Valley. Sioux Falls will see a mixed bag of rain and snow today. Temperatures will remain well below normal in the mid 30s to near 40.
Rain and snow will diminish overnight with lows in the lower 30s. We should get a break tomorrow with mostly cloudy skies in the east and partly cloudy conditions in the west. Highs will be a little warmer with highs in the lower to middle 40s.
The next storm will give us another chance of rain Thursday into Friday. This system looks a little warmer, so it should minimize the snow threat. Highs will stay in the upper 40s to lower 50s to end the work week, with warmer weather by Easter Weekend. Highs are expected to top out near 60 by Sunday in many areas.
