Storm Center Update-Monday AM
April 18, 2011, 6:04 AM
SIOUX FALLS, SD -
We have more rain and snow this morning across KELOLAND, with most of it located West River. We expect this area of rain and snow to move east during the day with highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s, which is still much below normal.
Rain and snow will be likely tonight in most areas as the system intensifies from the west. Lows will be in the lower 30s, just cold enough for snow.
Tomorrow will be a messy day with rain and snow likely. Several inches of snow will be possible in north-central KELOLAND west of Mobridge. There are no watches or warnings for northern KELOLAND yet, but that could easily change later today. Highs tomorrow will be in the 30s in most areas. More snow could fall tomorrow night, including Sioux Falls. I wouldn’t be surprised if we had enough to coat the ground white again in Sioux Falls. There is also a threat of heavier snow in south-central MN, so we’ll watch that too for far eastern KELOLAND.
There will be a continued slight chance of rain and snow Wednesday, but a more substantial chance of moisture will return late Thursday into Friday. Highs will remain in the 40s with mostly cloudy skies through the end of the work week.
The weather will start changing this weekend with highs in the 50s for Easter weekend…a welcome change that will certainly feel better.
