SIOUX FALLS, SD -
The governor says a report on the attempted prison escape and killing of a correctional officer at the state penitentiary will be made public.
The warden of the state penitentiary says the first review of the attempted prison escape and killing of a correctional officer will likely be done early next week. But Warden Doug Weber says part of that report likely will not be made public so inmates don't learn some security procedures.
Gov. Dennis Daugaard said Friday that a Department of Corrections review already under way will be part of a more thorough report to be completed within 30 days. The governor says information involving safety or security at the prison or relating to the prosecution of two inmates will be redacted.
Inmates Rodney Berget and Eric Robert are charged with killing a prison guard during an attempted escape in Sioux Falls.
