Noem: SD Needs Better Energy Policy
March 3, 2011, 4:50 PM
Gasoline prices have taken another jump.
The national average surged four cents overnight to 3.43 a gallon.
That's a 30 cent increase in just a couple weeks.
And South Dakota Representative Kristi Noem says it's yet another reason lawmakers need to come up with a better energy policy.
“Little can be directly done to achieve immediate stability in the Middle East to lower gas prices, but that is why many of us have been calling for an end to our addiction to foreign oil,” Noem said.
Noem says a new policy needs to encourage conservation and being responsible with existing resources.
She says the government should also offer incentives for new ideas.
