February 21, 2011, 10:19 AM

Snow Alert Issued In Sioux Falls
SIOUX FALLS, SD - Sioux Falls has issued a snow alert for city streets.

So far, more than 1.5" of snow and sleet have fallen in the city, which is creating difficult travel conditions in Sioux Falls especially on side streets.

Plows are clearing emergency routes in the city first. City crews will start with streets in Zone 3 once all Emergency Routes have been cleared. All streets in Zone 3 will be cleared, so any vehicles parked on those streets are subject to ticketing and towing.

Crews will move on to streets in Zone 2 Monday evening at 8 p.m. East/west streets will be cleared first. Plowing of north/south streets will start Tuesday morning at 8 a.m.

Check the Sioux Falls website for more information on the snow alert.
