Faith School District Receives Money For New School

Even with the struggle in Pierre, the district that's been the poster child of struggling schools in South Dakota is celebrating tonight.
For years students in Faith have been going to class in a series of modified mobile homes. The old school was condemned in 2004 and the district couldn't afford a new one until now.
A local rancher wrote out a check for $322,000, which puts the district at more than a million dollars in community donations. When you add in $3 million in property taxes, the district can finally afford a new school.
The fund raising drive ends next month, then the bidding process will begin. The new building should be ready for students in the Fall of 2012.
