SIOUX FALLS, SD -
A series of public meetings around South Dakota that deal with spring flooding starts in Sioux Falls on Monday.
The state Office of Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency are coordinating the town hall meetings to provide information on the spring flood outlook, flood insurance, and flood preparation.
Other meetings this week are in Yankton on Tuesday, Watertown on Wednesday, Aberdeen on Thursday, and Mitchell on Friday. The meetings conclude February 7 in Rapid City, February 8 in Fort Pierre, and February 9 in Brookings.
A flood outlook from the National Weather Service lays out a high probability of major flooding on the James and Big Sioux rivers.
