Semi Rolls When Driver Falls Asleep
July 11, 2010, 1:25 PM
SIOUX FALLS, SD -
Interstate 29 was shut down for two hours Sunday morning, after a semi driver who nodded off rolled his truck and trailer.
South Dakota Highway Patrol says the semi driver fell asleep while driving and woke up as the truck was rolling. The truck and trailer landed upside down on the roof. Authorities say the driver wasn't seriously hurt.
I-29 is back open. Officials blocked southbound traffic on I-29 just south of the 41st Street exit for a couple of hours, while they turned semi upright and cleaned up some of the debris. After that, they opened up one lane to drivers and finished clearing the road.
