Report Suggests SD Tech Grads Fare Well

A new report from the state's technical institutes suggests that graduates seem to be weathering the recession fairly well.
The 2008-2009 placement report found that 93 percent of employable graduates have jobs, and 81 percent have found work in their chosen fields. Of the graduates employed in their fields, 80 percent found jobs in training-related careers in South Dakota.
The report was presented last week to the state Board of Education.
The state Department of Education's Mark Wilson says administrators and faculty work closely with business and industry to make sure graduates receive training that prepares them for workforce opportunities.
