Zing, a Sioux Falls, SD, home furnishings and gift store, took top honors in Store Design in Gifts and Decorative Accessories magazine’s Retailer Excellence Awards competition. The award was presented to Zing’s Julie Flannery-Allen, Sarah Lavin and Michael Flannery in front of a major cross section of the gift trade industry at the 62nd annual Retailer Excellence Awards Gala in New York City.
Zing’s conversion of a former automobile garage space into a unique contemporary retail and event space that is bright, inviting and easy to shop impressed the Retailer Excellence Awards (REA) judges.
In presenting the Award to Zing, it was noted that “Seeing the potential in a blank space takes vision, courage and a lot of hard work, especially when encountering challenges to transforming a space into a welcoming and pleasing retail space.” Zing’s owners saw the potential in the space and succeeded in transforming it into their retail vision.
Established in 1917, Gifts and Decorative Accessories magazine is the leading trade publication for independent specialty retailers in the gift, stationery and home decor industry. The Retailer Excellence Awards were established in 1951 to provide a platform to honor outstanding creative retailers, showcase their achievements and provide inspiration to other retailers just like them.
