The Yankton City Commission has approved a contract with the city's employee union that includes a pay increase and an additional paid holiday.
The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 3968 agreed to the contract last week.
The city declared an impasse in negotiations in March. A mediator worked with the parties for several hours earlier this month to craft a contract acceptable to both sides.
The previous agreement expired in December, and the new contract is retroactive to Jan. 1.
