Authorities in Yankton, South Dakota have a man in custody after a morning homicide.
Yankton Police Chief Brian Paulsen says authorities caught up with Joshua Charles Hudson Friday morning.
Police were called to the scene of the crime around 7:30 a.m. Paulsen says Hudson was not there when police arrived.
Hudson was found a short time later after police notified the public he was on the run. His green 2002 Green Dodge Ram pick-up was spotted in Sioux City near Wesley Way. Sioux City police say he led officers on a high speed pursuit through Sioux Cities West and the Northwest side into Plymouth County. Hudson then drove into South Dakota, where speeds reached 100 miles per hour. South Dakota authorities put down stop sticks, but Hudson drove around them into a field. His truck got stuck and officers were able to take him into custody.
After a news conference with Yankton police Friday afternoon, we learned the victim was Hudson's uncle. We'll have more details on this story tonight on KELOLAND News.
