Xcel Energy Funds Southeast Tech Scholarships

June 23, 2014, 12:00 PM by Angela Kennecke

Xcel Energy Funds Southeast Tech Scholarships
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Xcel Energy is giving Southeast Tech a $1,500 grant to fund three $500 educational scholarships for students.  Xcel Energy’s grant is part of the company’s efforts to support nonprofit organizations like Southeast Tech that improve science, technology, engineering, economics and math education.

“We rely on support from community and corporate partners such as Xcel Energy,” said Chellee Nemec, Institutional Advancement Officer for the Southeast Tech Foundation. “This funding allows us to grant scholarships that make a tremendous difference to students with limited resources. Helping these students complete their education, enter the workforce and strive for self-sufficiency truly changes lives.”

Southeast Tech has nearly 1,000 graduates in its program every year.
