The three women who have filed a civil suit against the former co-owner of two adult stores in Sioux Falls are taking the stand on Wednesday.
One of the women testified Wednesday morning and detailed her claims that David Eliason raped her in his office at Annabelle's in Sioux Falls in October 2007. Eliason, who is representing himself, cross-examined the woman in emotional testimony. Eliason's questions focused on why the woman had such strong memories of the alleged rape, but not what happened just before and after it.
Following the woman's testimony, her counselor took the stand to share how the woman is dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder. The counselor says it is very common for a victim to remember details of an attack clearly, but be fuzzier about memories before and after.
A jury will decide whether the women should be awarded damages or if Eliason should have his name cleared.
