A South Dakota woman is charged in the death of a four-year-old boy in Buffalo County.
Donika Gonzales, 22, faces one count of felony abuse or cruelty to a minor.
Attorney General Marty Jackley and local prosecutor David Natvig say the charges stem from an incident at a rural Gann Valley home on Thursday. According to court paperwork, Gonzales kicked, slapped and threw the boy to the ground for wetting his pants. Gonzales admits to stomping on the boy's legs at least two times when he was on the floor.
Gonzales faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and/or a $30,000 fine.
Her bond is set at $1 million.
