Wismer Taps Blake As Running Mate

Wismer Taps Blake As Running Mate
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

The first female to run for South Dakota governor on a major party ticket has tapped another woman to be her running mate.

Democrat Susan Wismer announced today that former Sioux Falls lawmaker Susy Blake will run as her Lieutenant Governor.

The two served together in the state legislature.

Wismer says Blake 'is committed to fight for our state's future.'

"I've always tried to advocate for people. Whether I was a nurse advocating for my patients or a mom advocating for my kids' activities or education and even as a legislator I advocated for the people in my district," Blake said.

Today's announcement came a day before the South Dakota Democrats will hold their state convention in Yankton.
