Sunday’s blizzard is especially impacting people in central and northern South Dakota.
Interstate 90 remains closed from Sioux Falls to Wall and Interstate 29 is closed from Sioux Falls to the North Dakota border.
Many schools are also calling off school on Monday.
Nearly a foot of snow has fallen in some parts of South Dakota.
Heavy accumulations and strong winds are causing dangerous conditions. The Aberdeen area received about ten inches of snow. It’s one of the places in northeast South Dakota that’s been hit hard.
And in the Pierre area, it was a near white-out. Travelers report near-zero visibility and although plows are out, the winds are creating problems for many drivers.
Blizzard conditions are expected to remain in the area until Monday.
