Playing disc golf in February in South Dakota may not make a lot of sense, but that's exactly the point during The Fourth Annual Mighty Mo Blizzard on Saturday.
Players will be braving the frigid temperatures to compete in the annual tournament that is played no matter what the weather. Saturday's event at Oahe Downstream-Powerhouse Alley disc golf course comes after multiple inches of snow are predicted and high temperatures are expected in the 20s.
The tournament is one of about 250 held across the United States and Canada to raise money for local charities. In 2012, the events brought in more than $300,000 and 79,000 pounds of food.
Local tournament director Josh Wishard says he hopes between 15 and 25 people participate.
