The Memorial Day holiday weekend is just getting underway, but in some neighborhoods in Sioux Falls it's looking more like Thanksgiving.
Three wild turkeys turned up in a front yard near the Western Mall.
Game, Fish and Parks says Sioux Falls has long had a thriving population of urban turkeys. And the gobblers attract plenty of gawkers.
A Friday morning, a KELO employee caught some of the birds on camera.
“When my daughter came out and said, ‘mom, dad, there's turkeys out front.’ I didn't believe her at all and went and took a look and there they were,” homeowner Mike Rutten said.
The turkeys hunt for grain and insects to eat. Then at night, they roost up in trees.
