WI Pileup Shows Danger Of Overdriving Conditions

WI Pileup Shows Danger Of Overdriving Conditions

Even light snow can be a dangerous thing, especially while driving on the streets and highways.

Video from Wisconsin is a prime example of what can happen when people over drive the conditions.  Driver after driver fails to slow down while approaching a pileup.

It lasted more than three minutes and involved two dozen drivers.  At one point, you can see people get out of their vehicles.

Captain Kevin Joffer of the South Dakota Highway Patrol says that can be extremely dangerous.

"I think one of instincts is to get out and want to care for others or see if everyone is ok.  Sometimes if you get into these large-chain reactions, sometimes not knowing if you are in one, the best place to be is in your car," Joffer said.

Fortunately, everyone survived the crash.
