What's In A Name?

May 26, 2014, 9:11 AM by Casey Wonnenberg

What's In A Name?
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

During pregnancy, an important task expectant parents have is to chose a name for their baby.

The Social Security Administration just released its list of the top baby names in the country last year.

In South Dakota more people named their babies Liam and Emma than any other name, but is it good to name your kid a popular name, an unusual name or a traditional name?

"If you have a name no one can pronounce or you always have to correct the person, it starts them out in a situation where they're always just out there," Sanford Behavioral Health Triage Therapist Karla Harmon said.

However, there are a lot of factors that go into the role a baby's name can play.

We'll look into that tonight on HealthBeat on KELOLAND News at 6 p.m.
