Our newest section of KELOLAND.com allows you to submit your favorite recipes and get new ideas from others as well.
But that's not all; there's also a contest you can get involved in. This month, one local restaurant is taking "local" to a whole new level by letting one person in the community come up with a new menu item for them.
Cooking every night can quickly become a chore. That's why some people dine out. And when it comes to choosing a place to eat, TC's Referee is one of the local spots that top the list in Sioux Falls.
"We are really local; kind of our theme is that we are a small 'Cheers.' If people can remember from when 'Cheers' were on, everybody knows everybody. And we have had the same staff there for a long time," Director of Operations Jeff Hanssen said.
After being in business for over 20 years, they are now looking to shake things up with your help.
"I think there are a lot of people who like serving food, who like cooking at home so they will be able to showcase what they do," Hanssen said.
The contest is "What's for Dinner?" TC's is working with KELOLAND to pick the best appetizer submitted to the website, which will then be served at TC's. Hanssen says he couldn't be more excited for the contest.
"Just seeing all the recipes really. After so long, you get you start doing the same thing over and over so this will kind of give us and our customers a little bit of a change up," Hanssen said.
And a tip from Hanssen to help you get ahead?
"A lot of it will be the taste and the look. Unfortunately, a lot of people eat with their eyes. If it doesn't look good and even if it tastes wonderful, people are turned off right away," Hanssen said.
