What Voters Want To Hear

November 2, 2012, 7:45 AM by Kellee Azar

What Voters Want To Hear

There's a common theme of what voters want to hear from candidates leading into the South Dakota election and it appears straight forward answers are even more important than the issues themselves.

Before voters head to the polls, many want more answers before they make a decision. And they plan to look for those answers Friday night during the South Dakota US House Debate on KELOLAND TV.

One man we spoke with says the way Democratic US House candidate Matt Varilek and Republican Congresswoman Kristi Noem answer the questions will make all the difference in who gets his vote.

“Well, I would like to see them address the issues and not evade the issues and not talk around the questions but answer the questions,” voter Don White said.

But not only that, they want to get to know both of the candidates. Some feel that has been missing from this year's heated race.

"I want to know what they can actually do, Kristi Noem.  We haven’t seen anything as far as the other candidate.  We don’t know anything about them,” voter Christopher Chandler said.

This is the only debate between Noem and Varilek on commercial television.

You can still share your questions by sending us an email.  Then join us on KELO TV at 7 p.m. CDT to get the answers from the candidates.  You can also take part in the discussion through a live blog on our US House Race page of and sending tweets with the hashtag #kelolandvotes.
