There's been a lot of discussion over where state high school tournaments, including basketball and volleyball, should be played. While some hope the new Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls will get plenty of use once it opens, others like to see the events in smaller cities like Huron, Aberdeen and Watertown.
In order to get a better idea of where the public wants to go to watch the games, the South Dakota High School Activities Association is asking for your opinion.
The idea was first suggested at the SDHSAA's board meeting in November by First PREMIER Bank CEO Dana Dykhouse.
The survey asks if students prefer the events to be in the same place every year. It also asks fans if dining and shopping options are important.
Another topic includes what you haven't liked at past tournaments whether it be a small audience or poor team space and locker rooms.
Lawrence & Schiller is conducting the survey.
Once complete, it will be given directly to the SDHSAA Board of Directors. What is done with the information will be up to the board after the information becomes available.
The survey is being paid for by Sanford Health and First PREMIER Bank. If you'd like to weigh in, you can go to www.sdhsaa.com.
