The rivalry between South Dakota State University and the University of South Dakota will be renewed on Tuesday. Basketball teams from each school will face off in the Women's Summit League Tournament Championship game.
It is USD's first year to play in the tournament and Coach Amy Williams says she is proud of her team's efforts.
Williams says the Coyotes stuck to their game plan as they took on IUPUI in the semi finals Monday afternoon. USD came out on top, 82 to 72.
As for the next game, Williams says USD wanted another opportunity to play their rivals from SDSU. She says rather than looking at the chance to get to the NCAA tournament with a win, she's focused on the matchup against SDSU and what her team needs to do to win the Summit League Championship.
Williams spoke with KELOLAND Sports Director Matt Holsen shortly after the USD victory on Monday; click on the attached video to watch that interview.
