FORT WAYNE, IN -

Amanda Hyde scored 23 points while three other Mastodons scored in the double- digits as Fort Wayne topped South Dakota 71-64 on Saturday at the Gates Sports Center.

Stefanie Mauk scored 14 points for Fort Wayne (11-14, 7-6), while Rachel Mauk scored 12 points and Erin Murphy added 10 points.  The Mastodons converted 16 Coyote turnovers into 19 points and drew 21 fouls. The win pulled Fort Wayne into a tie for third place with South Dakota in the Summit League standings.

For South Dakota (12-14, 7-6), Polly Harrington recorded her fourth double-double of the season with a 19 point-12 rebound effort, while Tempestt Wilson scored 17 points.

Fort Wayne led by as many as 11 in the first half while shooting 48 percent and went into halftime with a 36-28 lead.  South Dakota fought back to take a 54-53 lead with 10:45 left, but Fort Wayne drew eight fouls and shot 10 of 14 from the free throw line to outscore USD 18-10 the rest of the way.

South Dakota will return to the DakotaDome to host IUPUI on Thursday at 7 p.m.
